1. What attracted you to Claire's?

“What first attracted me to applying for a job at Claire’s back when I was sixteen? I was really excited about joining the company – it seemed Claire’s was on trend, fashionable…just where I wanted to work. I was college at the time and it was my first job as a Christmas temp.”

2. How has your career developed at Claire's?

“What I am most proud of is my current role now which is as permanent District Sales Manager. I cover the Midlands and Staffordshire. I’m really proud of it because I have worked for a few years to get where I wanted to be. Its very challenging, very exciting, and it’s definitely what I love.”

3. Describe a typical day.

“A typical day for me…well there is no typical day! Every day is a different day – it’s new, it’s exciting, it’s challenging. The thing I love about my current role is going out visiting the different stores, checking that they are running smoothly, developing the team, being passionate about customer service and driving sales forward.”

4. What's the working environment like?

“At the moment I’m very much out in the field driving from store to store, however it’s great to know that a colleagues’ support is only a phone call away. Be that in Head Office, from the support there, or from colleagues just wanting to talk about your day or anything like that.”

5. What do you like most about working at Claire's?

“What I like most about working at Claire’s is that every day is a different day. It’s exciting, fun, challenging. What’s most rewarding is obviously hitting my sales targets, progressing my people to further promotions. And there are some great opportunities as well – I’ve been very fortunate to be able to go out to Spain and open two new stores. And also Holland – I went to Rotterdam and Amsterdam to open two new stores as well. So very exciting!”

6. What does the future hold for you?

“So I recently got promoted from Store Manager to my current role, District Sales Manager. I’ve worked towards that for the past four years so it’s rewarding to get finally to where I wanted to be. And the future for me – I want to progress and become a very established District Sales Manager and hopefully in the future become a District Sales Manager Trainer where I can go on and train other people.”

Issy's Profile

“I joined Claire’s as a Christmas temp. It was my first job and I was only 16. I can still remember how I excited I was to be joining a trendy, fashionable company like Claire’s."

"I’ve come a long way since then. I progressed to Store Manager and then worked really hard to become a District Sales Manager. But I don’t intend to stop there – I want to progress further in the future and go on to be a District Sales Manager Trainer where I’d be going out and training other people how to do my current role."

"I absolutely love my job. It’s exciting and challenging and everything I hoped it’d be. Every day’s different, and I get to visit stores across my area, the Midlands and Staffordshire, to make sure that things are running smoothly. I help to develop the store team too, building on their passion for customer service and helping them to drive sales forward."

"Most of my time’s spent out and about, driving from store to store. But while I’m on the road I know that support from Head Office and colleagues across my area is only a phone call away. That’s really good to know. I enjoy helping people to get on in their careers too, to seem them being promoted or just hitting their sales targets. That’s incredibly rewarding. Personally speaking, I’ve had so many great opportunities and achievements in my career so far. I’ve been fortunate enough to open new stores in Spain and Holland too."
