When I tell people where I work, they already have a good idea of what it's like, now that the Claire's brand is so well known. When I was headhunted from another retailer 9 years ago, there were only a hundred stores - now there's around 450 in the UK and Ireland alone. This was part of the reason I joined - there's always expansion and change afoot here, which means the job is kept interesting and fresh. That, combined with a relaxed friendly atmosphere and incredible amounts of support should see anyone with a bit of ambition do well here.

My personal and professional development since joining has really been fantastic. Claire's supported me all the way through my CIMA studies at FTC and through the 'rotation plan' which they operate, I have gained invaluable on-the-job experience, so my accounting and overall business knowledge has really improved. What's great is, finance with Claire's just isn't your sit-down-and-number-crunch existence - here you move around and get to see what's happening in other areas of the business both in the UK and internationally. This is something I now ensure all the trainee financial analysts in my team get to take part in. I think everyone should have the benefits I did.
