bek - visual manager
My whole career has been in retail, 10 years of it here with Claire's and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. As a people person who takes a real pride and passion in what I do, I couldn't fit better with the positive culture here. I started as Store Manager (and ear-piercing specialist), which gave me invaluable shop floor experience. From there I moved into a visual co-ordinator role and was promoted in 2004 to my current position as Visual Manager. All the way through I've been given loads of support and training.
Things move pretty fast around here, so you've got to be flexible and able to adapt and see change as a challenge. I love it. There's never a dull moment. Whether I'm travelling around Europe, visiting the stores, or at central office, planning and organising layouts, I'm engaged and interested in what I'm doing and surrounded by lovely, supportive people who really believe in what they do. I can honestly say that just when you think things can't get any better, they do. I have the head-hunters contacting me every three months, but none of them can offer me anything I haven't got already and I'd never go anywhere else - there's too many challenges for me to meet here.
