You’ve probably already decided that a career in Merchandising is for you – or if you would like to understand how the merchandising and buying functions operate in tandem with each other we want to give you some of the best experience in the business. So it’s no exaggeration to say that you’ll want to grab this work experience opportunity with both hands! 

We’re Claire’s, and we’re growing rapidly with over 3000 stores worldwide, over 1000 of which are in Europe. We’re one of the most successful brands on the high street, specialising in fashion jewellery and accessories for girls aged between 3 and 18. Our vast range of products means that our Buying and Merchandising team gain a breadth of experience that few other retailers can offer! Working closely with the product we ensure they are in the right place, at the right time in 13 countries all with different regional nuances and trends. 

So how will this benefit you? Well, you’ll join us for a month, working alongside our experienced Buyers, Merchandisers and global suppliers seeing how a European Merchandising function operates. We’ll make sure you get to see as many sides of merchandising as possible; assisting with developing a range from start to finish, preparing weekly trading reports, assisting in the repeat order process and store visits. You will also gain exposure to range reviews and monthly product performance reviews. 

You’ll need to be in your second or final year of university studying a fashion or business degree, have a passion for fashion and Claire’s products and be driven in terms of getting as much out of your work experience as you can. If you make the right impression, you may end up being part of our Talent Bank for future vacancies that occur in our Merchandising department.
